Invocation is the act of conjuring a spirit or God and having them brought about into yourself. In one case, Nancy Downs invoked Manon, a powerful deity that is said to be the very essence of the nature. In another case, Sarah Bailey invoked Manon to give her the power to stop Nancy once and for all whilst simultaneously binding Rochelle and Bonnie's powers.
While invocation could bestow upon one powers far greater than other practitioners of magic, it could also be extremely dangerous: if it is performed with the recipient having bad intent, it can cause the one who invoked the supernatural entity to become unhinged and crave more power.
Invocation is usually performed by a coven, via a ritual known as the Invocation of the Spirit, though it can be performed by fewer witches (a coven needs at least four members) - a particularly powerful witch, such as Sarah, is capable of invoking a spirit or deity by themselves. There is a book written on invocation, also titled Invocation of the Spirit.

- During the filming of the invocation scene for the film, when Fairuza Balk yelled "Manon, fill me!", the tide rose and washed away their altar and simultaneously all the power to the cameras and computers went out. This caused even Pat Devin to raise an eyebrow.
