Sarah's mother was Sarah Bailey's biological mother and Mr. Bailey's first wife, who died during labor. She was revealed by Lirio to be a natural witch. Her name is not revealed. She was portrayed by Jane Eilber.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Sarah's mother, save for the fact she was a natural witch who passed on her abilities to her daughter. Sarah's mother died giving birth to her. She left behind her ring, which was given to Sarah. She often wore it to remind herself of her mother; she also kept a photograph of her mother in her room. It is clear that Sarah loves her mother very much, despite never having the chance to meet her. It's implied that part of the reason Sarah became depressed as a teen was due to feeling guilty over her mother's death, believing it to be her fault as her mother died in childbirth. Sarah's mother is mentioned a few times in the film.
Upon meeting Lirio, Sarah is told by the older witch that the ring she owns once belonged to her mother, despite them never having met. Later, Lirio tells Sarah her mother was also a witch and that her spirit watches over her. Nancy Downs also uses Sarah's mother to taunt Sarah, mockingly saying that she managed to kill her mother whilst she was coming out of her, which even Nancy couldn't achieve. During Sarah's battle against Nancy, Bonnie and Rochelle, Sarah was prompted by her mother's spirit to invoke Manon's power and defeat the girls.
Powers and abilities[]
Sarah's mother was also a witch. From this, it's assumable that she was capable of a variety of feats such as spellcasting, psychokinesis, dream manipulation, levitation, glamouring, pyrokinesis, etc.
Trivia[]
- It's unknown if Sarah's mother knew she was a witch.
- It's possible that she had some sort of involvement with Lirio prior to Sarah's birth, as Lirio knows intimate details about her. However, it's also possible Lirio knew these things due to psychic abilities. Another possibility is that Lirio could communicate with Sarah's mother's spirit.
